Work Package Leader: Knut-Inge Klepp
Based on the ‘best practice’ interventions and policies identified in WP4, an assessment will be made of the extent to which these interventions and policies are implemented in different
European regions. Barriers to successful implementation of effective policies and interventions will also be determined. Inventories will be ordered according to five different cancer-related risk behaviours: smoking/tobacco use, obesity, physical activity, fruit and vegetables consumption and alcohol intake. Estimates of the impact of ideal implementation of effective interventions and policies will be made.
The end products of this work package will ultimately lead to an adaptation of the future exposure levels originally defined in WP2 and entered into the Prevent programme.
The final report of this work package can be found through this link, and results of this work package are described here.
Methods:
Questionnaires to national cancer prevention organizations in 28 European countries in three waves; smoking/tobacco, obesity/physical activity/fruit and vegetable consumption, alcohol consumption.
Output:
1. Report on implementation and barriers to implementation of effective ‘best-practice’ cancer risk-behaviour reducing interventions/policies in the EU
2. Estimation of expected changes in exposure with high/low rates of exposure across Europe
Timeline:
Data collection late 2006/frist half of 2007.
Reports on outputs due in June 2007 (1) and December 2007 (2).
