The search engine searches in pages and documents available within the website. With the checkboxes the search area can be narrowed. Not logged on to the website, the search engine will only search within the public area of the website. Logged on to the website, the search engine will search within the public area, restricted area and all workgroups area the user has access to.
The search engine does not search for words consisting of less than three characters. Words like, to, on and in will not be found. The search engine is NOT case sensitive. Searching for cancer gives the same results as searching for CaNcer.
Search results will only give exact matches; searching for under will NOT give underlying as a result. In these cases a wildcard (*, or asterisk) should be used. Searching for under* will give underlying and underground as a result.
SEARCHING WITHIN DOCUMENTS
The search engine will only search within documents with extension .pdf, .doc and .ppt. , and only within the first 3000 characters of the document. The search engine only searches within document that are part of the Eurocadet website.
USE OF BOOLEAN OPERATORS
You can search for two words by editing them in the search field, separated by a space.
- Example_1: Search for: cancer prevention
Gives results with the word cancer , results with the word prevention and results with cancer prevention. - Example_2: Search for: cancer AND prevention
Gives results with the word cancer and results with the word prevention. - Example_3: Search for: cancer OR prevention
Gives results with the word cancer , results with the word prevention or both.
Characters like &, |, %, ( and ) should not be used within a search job.
